For english 101 we had to write a literacy narrative about 2 different educational events that made us the readers and writers we are today. We had to give 2 specific examples and how they effected us. I chose to write about a class I took and a trip to Europe that I went on. In the paper, because it is a narrative, you had to write more informally because the story was personal. It was easy for me to write because the events were so recent.
Although we got to pick what events we wrote about, the genre helped me quickly narrow down my options of what i wanted to write. Also writing a narrative is easiest for me because i can tell the story to my audience the exact way it happened. There wasn't a certain type of language or argument that I had to follow, so I think thats why that paper and the events I chose were the best.
The other aspect that helped me write this paper was the fact that I could have my own stance on the situation, and I was able to explain that to my audience in my own words and through my own events. An example would be when I made this literacy narrative into a digital media project, and I made a video of myself telling the story, which was in my opinion the best option because I felt like I was able to really get across my main points, and it was cool because it's like I was directly talking to the audience.
